Friday Night Basketball Lights Up Liverpool for Young People
It’s 9:00 pm on a Friday evening, the vibrant sounds of basketball - the rhythmic dribbling, the energetic bounce of trainers, and the satisfying swish of nets - fill the air at the LJMU sports building in the heart of Liverpool. This is the exciting scene of the innovative Midnight League, a new late-night basketball initiative launched by Toxteth El8te CIC and funded by Merseyside Police.
The Midnight League runs every Friday from 9:00 to 10:45 pm, welcoming young enthusiasts aged between 12-16 and those 16 and over. Whether seasoned pros or newcomers to the game, participants have the chance to play up to two games per night, all under the watchful eye of qualified referees.

Project Medusa and Operation Stonehaven
Project Medusa is a Merseyside-led initiative combating county lines drug dealing and the criminal exploitation of young people and vulnerable adults. Since 2019, the project has closed over 1,100 county lines and has referred more than 1,250 vulnerable individuals to safeguarding services. Operation Stonehaven complements these efforts by providing preventative and diversionary paths for young people at risk of criminal exploitation, supporting over 60 partner organisations in making a tangible difference in the community.
LVP 3X3 By El8te
The inaugural LVP 3x3 Basketball Tournament, hosted by Toxteth El8te, held in August 2023 at Liverpool ONE shopping complex, marked a historic moment in Liverpool's Basketball scene. This groundbreaking event witnessed the first-ever large-scale 3x3 Basketball tournament in the city, attracting basketball enthusiasts from all corners. of the UK.
The tournament showcased an impressive lineup of 64 teams and over 200 players, including participants who shared the court with England’s gold medal-winning team from last year's Commonwealth Games. It was a showcase of exceptional talent and sportsmanship, culminating in a thrilling display of basketball skills.
